Hixson's New Virtual Schedule
A few highlights to share:
Our classes will run from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm (except for Wednesdays). Time outside of these class periods has been set aside for asynchronous learning.
The district has implemented a Wednesday half-day schedule. Students will attend classes from 8:25 am to 12:05 pm on Wednesdays.
Students will have “What I Need” (WIN) time after the first two class periods and a longer lunch after 4th period to provide breaks from Zoom.
Since our asynchronous learning time has been moved to the beginning and end of the day, students are expected to be on Zoom for the entire 30-minute class period.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Our virtual parent/teacher conferences will take place October 13 - 15. To schedule a meeting with your child’s teachers, please visit https://ptcfast.com/schools/Hixson_Middle_School_1.
Please note: math, PE, and elective teachers will meet separately from the team conference. If you would like to meet with these teachers, you will need to schedule additional conferences.
You will receive a link to a Zoom meeting in your confirmation email. You will use this link to attend your conference. We will send reminders and further information regarding Zoom links closer to conference days.

Hixson Middle School Book Drive!
Hixson Middle School is a community of readers. We would like to provide an opportunity for students to take a break from their screens by putting a book in their hands. We are partnering with The Novel Neighbor to reach this goal. If you are able to support us, please select from the list below to purchase a book for a middle schooler!
If you'd prefer to make a monetary donation instead of a book, you can do so at the bottom of this page. All book drive books will be delivered to Hixson by the Novel Neighbor. The checkout page will say "In-store pickup," but you do not have to do anything after you complete payment.
From the Library
Our students are really READING with our new Sora app! Great job Hixson students! Please see our "stats" below!
