"C" Our Newest Product and....
an offer from me and other wellness news!
First things first!
I'm always here to help so never hesitate to reach out. I guess you can say it's the enneagram 3 in me. ;-)
How is everyone doing with about a month into staying at home? Finding your groove or feeling like you've lost it. I know for myself I'm finding my weeks to contain a mix of both. Some days are great and others are just plain hard, especially with the snow last week. I try to give myself grace. I've read a few different times that the best things we can do for our kids right now is to show them love and stability and that this time is not like true homeschooling. I've heard this a few different times and it's so fitting, we are all in this storm on different boats and we are doing the best we can. Another thing I've read that to make sure our immune systems are running as best they can we we need to make sure we are limiting stress. I know I know, that can be easier said than done, but more on that later.
MEET THE NEWEST MEMBER OF COUNTER+
If you are like me and wondering why in the heck you'd want a C Serum, don't worry, I will fill you in on all the details. If you love the Overnight Resurfacing Peel you will need/want to grab this. And, I am throwing out a one time offer of $10 off the purchase of the Serum in case you can't wait to grab it!
I've been using it for a few weeks and I can already see a difference in an even brighter complexion (that I didn't know what possible)!
ALL ABOUT THE 'C'!
I want to be sure you have all the info you might want about this product, so if you are the "less is more" type of person, just keep scrolling!
What is the All Bright C Serum?
A potent blend of two ultra-stable forms of vitamin C instantly brightens skin and helps reduce the appearance of dark spots, while turmeric and camu camu extracts help combat hyperpigmentation and defend skin from the damaging effects of environmental stressors—revealing a more youthful-looking complexion.
What are the featured ingredients?
10% Vitamin C blend:
- 5% Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate: Antioxidant that reduces the appearance of dark spots and boosts skin brightening, to reveal more youthful-looking skin.
- 5% Bis-Glyceryl Ascorbate: Moisturizes skin while providing antioxidant benefits to protect skin from damaging environmental stressors. Helps to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- Myrciaria Dubia (Camu Camu) Fruit Extract: This powerful antioxidant helps reduce the appearance of dark spots while brightening, to visually improve signs of skin fatigue.
- Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract: The serum’s vibrant hue? That’s thanks to turmeric, an antioxidant superstar that helps even skin tone and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
How to use:
Apply to face, neck, and décolletage. Use every morning, after your regimen treat step and before moisturizer. All Bright C Serum can be layered over another serum in your regimen.
How does it compare?
You might be wondering how this compares to others on the market... well first, it's cleaner than most OBVIOUSLY, because that's what we do. It's actually MORE than HALF of the price of the leading/gold standard Vitamin C serum; it's also formulated with more stable Vitamin C because the common form (L-Ascorbic Acid) starts to lose its stability when it comes into contact with water, meaning that just because the bottle boasts a certain %, that doesn't mean that you're still getting that performance months later as the product ages.
So we tackled clean, we tackled performance, we tackled stability and let's talk results:
Clinical studies showed that 100% of those surveyed said skin looked brighter; 9.4/10 people said that BROWN SPOTS were diminished!!! 97% said skin looked more youthful and 94% said skin looked more even. Most of my friends and myself who have been sneak peaking it have been blown away by the INSTANT radiance and GLOW!

WHAT I'M BAKING!
Also, from what I've read Sourdough is better tolerated for people who have a gluten intolerance and I also am using organic heritage flour from a "local" flour mill in Minnesota, Sunrise Flour Mill. that I've read is also better tolerated.

And, more baking! Did you see that the Doubletree released their cookie recipe????
DoubleTree Signature Cookie Recipe
Makes 26 cookies
½ pound butter, softened (2 sticks)
¾ cup + 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
¾ cup packed light brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 ¼ teaspoons vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 ¼ cups flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
Pinch cinnamon
2 2/3 cups Nestle Tollhouse semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 3/4 cups chopped walnuts
Cream butter, sugar and brown sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer on medium speed for about 2 minutes.
Add eggs, vanilla and lemon juice, blending with mixer on low speed for 30 seconds, then medium speed for about 2 minutes, or until light and fluffy, scraping down bowl.
With mixer on low speed, add flour, oats, baking soda, salt and cinnamon, blending for about 45 seconds. Don’t overmix.
Remove bowl from mixer and stir in chocolate chips and walnuts.
Portion dough with a scoop (about 3 tablespoons) onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper about 2 inches apart.
Preheat oven to 300°F. Bake for 20 to 23 minutes, or until edges are golden brown and center is still soft.
Remove from oven and cool on baking sheet for about 1 hour.
What I'm doing to help reduce stress
A lot of us are feeling stress and strain right now. Which lead me to thinking of ways to help you manage this stress.
We aren’t going to be able to wipe it magically away (I wish), but I do want to talk about one class of supplements called adaptogens.
“Your body is built to release the hormone cortisol to respond to stress, but elevated cortisol levels over long periods of time and chronic stress can affect every physiological system in your body, including your thyroid and adrenal glands.”
“Cortisol is also known as the aging hormone. When cortisol levels rise, you experience the “fight or flight” response, which stimulates your sympathetic nervous system and your adrenal glands. When this occurs, there is a decrease in your digestive secretions and an increase in blood pressure. In normal life, you experience this response, your body and brain respond to the stressor, your cortisol levels even back out and your body adapts back to normal.”
Adaptogens are a unique class of healing plants: They help balance, restore and protect the body. According to naturopath Edward Wallace, an adaptogen doesn’t have a specific action; it helps you respond to any influence or stressor, normalizing your physiological functions.
I will link the Dr. Axe article that goes into more depth about these. The second picture is a great overview.
I personally have taken Ashgwanda for the past 7 years. And, I just bought this Four Sigmatic coffee on amazon that has some incredible adapotgens. Which leads me to my next topic, whipped coffee!
Dalgona Coffee, have you tried it?
Dalgona Coffee is the latest big trend in Korea. It's also known as whipped coffee.
It is equal parts instant coffee, sugar, and water, whipped (either by hand with a whisk or with an electric hand mixer) and dolloped overtop milk of your choice. You can enjoy it hot (just steam your milk) or cold (add some crushed ice to your milk), and with several different sweeteners.
"Whipped coffee has roots in India, Pakistan, Macau, and Greece, though under a different name in each location. Whipped coffee, pheti hui coffee, Greek frappe, beaten coffee, and dalgona coffee are all names that describe this frothy concoction (though each region’s exact method/recipe varies just a bit). So, if it isn’t new, why is it surging in popularity now? WELL, in January of this year, an episode of a Korean show (called Pyunstorang), in which actor Jung Il-Woo traveled to Macau, happened upon the whipped coffee, tried it, and gave it the nickname “dalgona” (because it reminded him of a Korean toffee-like candy with the same name) aired on TV, and the rest will go down in quarantine history!"
Fed & Fit and her team did a thorough testing of various ingredients to see how they would turn out, you can see all their results, HERE.
Fed & Fit Foolproof Whipped Coffee Recipe
After making about 200 cups of Dalgona coffee collectively, we’ve decided that this combination is the winner:
- 2 teaspoons organic instant coffee (I'm loving the Four Sigmatic for this)
- 2 teaspoons PURE (the good stuff!) maple syrup
- 2 teaspoons HOT (doesn’t have to be actively boiling) water
Mix the instant coffee, maple syrup, and hot water with a hand mixer for 3 full minutes, then spoon over 1 cup crushed ice + 1 cup whole organic GF milk. Give it a good stir and enjoy with a metal reusable straw!
