Language Arts
I was privileged to work with Chris Hyde the Apple coach that was visiting Lower Pottsgrove last week. He showed me how to teach the children to compose their written work in Google Docs and then submit their pieces to my folder on Google Drive. So cool!
When all stories are complete and submitted I will be able to upload the folder to my web page for the world to see! :)
Nonfiction Informational Texts -
We will be working in our interactive notebooks this week so that we can record all about different graphic organizers and text structures as we find them throughout literature.
(My boys LOVE nonfiction and I've found that many reluctant readers do too. If your child struggles to get into a good book try out the 'Who Would Win?' series by Jerry Pallota.)

Guided Reading -
This week Guided Reading coaches will be coming to our school to evaluate our program and offer suggestions to strengthen all teachers in this important aspect of reading education.
As the students finish the fiction works that we have been reading, we will bring non fiction informational books and articles into this time as well. In this way, I will differentiate instruction to meet every child's needs.
