What should I read next?

Navigating your way to a Great Book!

Self Selection

Being able to select your own book, even within a particular theme or genre is priceless. It allows a person (you) to direct the type of book selected while gathering an understanding of the characteristics inherent in the piece. Everyone has a particular type of writing they enjoy over others, you just need to find out what it is for you.

Getting Started

Books in Print Format

Finding the Horizon System:

1. You are going to need to access the online catalog of books to see what is currently available.

2. You do this by selecting the icon on the desktop that looks like a stack of books with a worm on the top.

3. An alternative is to go to the library website on the Clark page and select Horizon from the left hand margin. I have attached a link on this page as well.

Horizon Directions:

  1. Select your search technique (keyword or author are most common)
  2. Type in the search term, keep in mind you may get different results when making the term plural
  3. If searching by author use the following format: Last Name, First Name
  4. Once you have gathered a list of search results begin analyzing them
  5. You can click on the title to open a new page with detailed information including a summary, category of book (fiction, nonfiction, biography, e-book, or audio book), the call number, and its availability

Frisco Public Library:

Using the Online System:
