Note from the Office
Please remember to report absences as well as schedule lunch visits by calling 915-4240 between 8:00—9:00 AM the day of. Sorry, no advance lunch reservations can be handled.
When reporting an absence or late arrival, we will ask you for your child’s name, their teacher’s name and a brief reason for their absence. The direct line for our attendance is 317-915-4248. Even if you email the teacher, you MUST report the absence to the office! Thank you!

We wanted to let you know that the Veggie Bar will be available every Wed and Thursday. Every student is allowed one free trip to the bar, regardless of whether or not they purchase a school lunch.
**Please do NOT be pack soda or candy in your child's lunch.
Pasta Bowl 2019
Collection Dates: September 5th - 16th
How can you help? Bring pasta to school to donate for local families in need.
What to donate? Any type of dry, uncooked pasta.

Mudsock 2019 VIP Tickets on sale now
As the Mudsock football game week approaches, the annual Pasta Bowl food drive is set to commence. Get Fired Up for the annual HSE Pasta Bowl. Several schools within our district are coming together to help support more than 4 local hunger relief organizations by collecting pasta for the 2019 Pasta Bowl. In addition to collecting boxes of pasta, the Pasta Bowl is also designed to help raise awareness for the local 1 in 7 students that struggle with food insecurity. This number increases to 1 in 4 students in some of our HSE buildings and we need your help! We are asking that you combine forces with HRE and help us achieve our goal of at least 1400 pounds of pasta to donate to this year's collection. Last year, HRE was the Elementary Pasta Bowl Champions and we want to make sure that we keep our title again this year by collecting even MORE items! The best way to achieve this goal is by averaging two boxes of pasta per student. Thank you for your support!
Library Volunteers Needed!
To volunteer for the school library, please submit the survey form which addresses the three main things needed from you to get started in working in the library:
1) Have a Completed & Current Background Check on file with the school.
2) Attend a Library Volunteer Meeting on ONE of the following days:
Tuesday, September 17th at 12:00 pm
- OR -
Friday, September 20th at 10:00 am
3) Choose the Time(s) you'd prefer to help with!
Book Rental and iPad Fees
You should have received a skylert that your child's book and IPad rental fees have been posted. Fees may be paid anytime via EFunds or by sending in a check made out to Hoosier Road Elementary. Be sure to put checks in a sealed envelope and include your student’s name, teacher’s name, and student ID. Unfortunately we are unable to process credit or debit cards in the office. All book fees need to be paid in full no later than October 4th, unless payment arrangements have been prearranged with the school treasurer.

Silent Auction
As part of the upcoming HRE Carnival, we hold a Silent Auction. The teachers and staff at HRE have generously donated their time for wonderful experiences with our students. Please use the link below to browse the auction experiences. The auction opens today at 3:00 pm, and closes on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at 12:00 pm. Payments from all winners are due on Monday, September 23, 2019. All proceeds from the auction will go towards continuing to provide innovative educational experiences at our school. Thank you for supporting HRE!
Donations Needed!
We will be having a cake walk and candy bar bingo at the Carnival next Friday, September 20. In order to make sure the cake walk and bingo are a success for the kids, we need baked goods and candy bar donations! Please send in pre-packaged baked goods and candy bars no later than the morning of September 20. Thank you!
