...that every classroom is a BYOD classroom? Every classroom is set up to allow you to present using your own laptop, even if there is an instructor cart! Google Drive and Docs

Did you know that MSU is a Google campus? Many Kentucky k-12 schools are also going to Google Apps for Education. Come and see how to use Google Drive for storing all of your files, accessing them anywhere you have internet. Google Docs is an online word processing tool that allows you to work anywhere and collaborate anytime. We think you'll like what you see!

Collaborating with Google Docs

Learn how to create documents with Google Docs; share them with students or have students share them with each other. Storing documents in the cloud and sharing them with students cuts down on paper usage and allows students to access their files on any computer with Internet access. No more excuses for forgotten homework or carrying large piles of grading home! Google Docs will be the primary application focused on, but the collaboration features are similar in the other apps like Google Slides and Sheets.

Google Classroom is a classroom management system that works well with Google Apps for Education and other assignments. Easy to use, easily used to keep track of where students are in their assignment, and easy for you to communicate with the class or an individual. Come see!

What is a Makerspace?

A makerspace is where you can use cardboard, legos, technology, and more to build, make, fail, remake, be creative,and collaborate. We'll show you some tools to use in the classroom and talk about how schools are implementing them.

Google Slides

If you can create a PowerPoint, you will LOVE Google Slides! With Slides you can create, edit, collaborate, and present, and it is all stored automatically in Google Drive. The big advantage is that your presentation lives in Google Drive and goes anywhere there is access to the Internet!

Screencasting--Creating videos to enhance learning

Bring your own computer and we'll use a program called Screencast-O-Matic (a free online program) to create a lesson by capturing your screen and voice (and video) - for your students to watch as part of a flipped classroom or as a resource. Save it for when we doing video editing in November.
