Destination Imagination Meeting: TODAY, September 18th!
Are you looking for an enriching, extra curricular activity that really gives children a hands-on experience in areas like science, engineering, performing arts, community service and more? Then please join us for our parent informational meeting for Destination Imagination on Wednesday, September 18th at 6:30 pm in Vaughan’s Multi-Purpose Room. Here is a link to find out more about the program: https://www.destinationimagination.org/#
Destination Imagination challenges are solved 100% by kids, but we still need parents to help things grow and become team managers or assistant team managers so our teams can form. If you are interested in this program, please let us know. Don’t worry, training is provided. We look forward to seeing you for the meeting!

THANK YOU to everyone who has donated to Anchor's Away! PTA has lots of great incentives for every level of donation made by October 1st. We were thrilled to hand out our first set of prizes last week!
We are closing in on our first campus goal of $10,000 with just a little more than $1,000 to go. If every household were to donate $30, we would meet our campus goal of $15,000 and bring the award-wining Dinosaur George to our campus in the spring!
PTA hosts programs and events that support our staff, school and students. Your donations help to pay for these. We appreciate everyone's contribution and any amount is appreciated!

Allen Council of PTA Citizenship Recipients
Congratulations to our first Citizenship Awards recipients for the 2019/2020 school year. These awards are given out to our teachers, staff, and parent volunteers that give their time and effort to support our schools.
Annette Black
Annette worked hard over the summer planning Vaughan Spirit Nights. She was very thoughtful in her approach, making sure to vary the type of Spirit Nights. She found activities that would appeal to the wide age range of students we have at our school. She kept a few that were familiar to our school's families but introduced some new restaurants, specifically ones that would deliver to help make the events more convenient for parents to participate in.
Aimee Hilton
Aimee ran the summer reading club in which some of our students were given books and then given the opportunity to come up several times this summer and swap out their previously read books for new books. Aimee took her own personal time providing this opportunity for our students.
Cheryl Rothbauer
Cheryl is the person behind the scenes at all extracurricular events. She maintains the Vaughan webpage and sets up the sound/computer for all events. She is always the first to respond to requests for help.
Julie Van Boerum
Julie poured her summer into executing Vaughan PTA's largest fundraiser: school supplies. She analyzed supply lists and order data, coordinated purchasing teams, and coordinated delivery of supplies to each teacher. The fundraiser was extremely successful and will allow the PTA to do many great things at Vaughan.
