Dress Code
ATTENTION PARENTS!
Dear HSOT Families,
The temperatures have cooled down and we realize that here at Harmony. However, we must still follow the Student Handbook guidelines. According to the Student Handbook, page 14, boots are still not allowed to be worn by students. Students in boots will be asked to change, or parents will have to bring a change of shoes.
In addition, Harmony jackets should only be worn in school. Students may also wear a long sleeve solid color shirt underneath their Harmony uniform shirt. If it is abnormally cold, students may wear other jackets, but they must be taken off while students are in school. Blankets and HOODIES are not to be brought to school at any time.
If they do then they are to be left in their lockers. If worn in school, teachers will pick them up for parents to come to school and retrieve them.
Thank you for your cooperation with this matter.
Harmony Public Schools - Alternate Meals Policy
ATTENTION: Students are not allowed to purchase a la carte items if their account has a $0 or negative balance. If they are purchasing a milk, we will allow them one charge as a courtesy. The Lunch Clerk will inform the student and parent that there must be funds in the meal account for a la carte purchases. The next attempt to purchase a la carte items will be denied until the account shows a positive balance.
The district charge limit applies to reimbursable meals only and not a la carte purchases.
.
For any questions or concerns related to meals, please contact our Lunch Clerk: Mrs. Julianne Srirama jsrirama@harmonytx.org or 281-444-1555 ext. 501 Thank you!
CLEAR BACKPACK
In an effort to improve the safety measures currently in place, HSOT requires all school students to use clear backpacks for the 2019-2020 school year..
What you need to know about HSOT's clear backpack policy
* Colored, transparent backpacks are not allowed. Only fully clear backpacks.
* Mesh backpacks are not allowed. Mesh side pockets are allowed on the backpack. Students are permitted to only use clear backpacks.
* Stripes in any location are not allowed on the backpack.
* The backpack may have colored straps.
* Non-clear lunch boxes are permitted to be carried within the backpacks.
* There are no size specifications.
* Small company logos are allowed, but large logos, monograms or other visual design obstructions are not.
* Athletic bags and instrument cases will be allowed on campus but these bags must be stored as soon as the student arrives at school. Athletic bags and instrument cases must be placed in lockers, art classrooms or athletic locker rooms.
* We understand the concern with the privacy of certain items contained within backpacks. Students will be permitted to carry such items in a small makeup pouch within the backpack or a small purse, sized 6 inches by 9 inches.
