Reading
Readability - Streamlines the presentation of web pages for easier reading.
Summarizer - Summarize long articles on any website or PDF by highlighting the text you want to summarize, then right-click on the article and select summarize selected text.
Math
Number Line - Provides student’s with a tool to visualize number sequences.
Wolfram Alpha - Provides step-by-step solutions for a variety of math and science subjects.
Writing
Google Dictionary - View definitions easily as you browse the web. Simply highlight the word you do not know and click on the dictionary extension.
Image Dictionary - quickly lookup an image of the highlighted words without leaving your current page. Displays the closest matching image in a popup bubble.
Social/ Behaviorial
Self Management Skills - Self Management Systems are used to increase desired behaviors and/or decrease interfering behaviors by teaching students to:
a) Monitor their behavior
b) Record their performance
c) Obtain reinforcement when their performance
meets pre-established criterion.
DCD/ASD Site Based Programs
- Don't throw out social stories after you think the student has mastered the skill. They have mastered it because of the story - keep revisiting it over and over again.
- Use CORE vocabulary words, this will help them learn the core words that are used in most subjects and most sentences.
- AutoRap app for iPad - Have your students say words or phrases (vocabulary words they are learning) and AutoRap will turn their words/phrases into a rap. You can choose from over 100+ beats.
