Welcome ALC 2 Participants!

let us prepare for an amazing experience

Welcome to the ALC Family

Hello, 你好, こんにちは!My name is Hirona, the Program Director of ALC 2. Welcome to VIA and the ALC family! I am very excited to have you all at Stanford this summer where you will have the opportunity to have life-changing experiences, gain long-lasting friendship and deepen understanding of yourself and the world.

So, how can you prepare for ALC?

Pre-Travel Checklist

By now you should have received a Pre-Travel Checklist to give you step by step instructions on each of the tasks to complete so you can attend the ALC program. Remember to complete each section of your progress log by the due dates given. If you have any questions or you have not received the Pre-Travel Checklist, please me at hirona@viaprograms.org

Insurance email from Stanford

Some of you may have received an email from Stanford that starts like this:

Dear New or Returning Stanford Student,

You are receiving this communication because our records show that you have not yet taken action regarding health insurance coverage for Summer Quarter 2015-2016 year. A decision is mandatory.

Please IGNORE this email. You will be purchasing insurance either through your school or through an organization we have provided in the pre-travel checklist. So remember it is important to carefully go through the pre-travel checklist and complete the items!

"Learn with, from and through others"

For this intensive four weeks at ALC, you will encounter many cross-cultural differences and similarities among participants. Throughout the program, let's think about how we can contribute to each other's learning ;)
Please click here to show you have received this email.

This ensures we are using the correct email address for you.

I cannot wait to see you all at Stanford!

I will be in touch with you over the next couple of months to let you know more exciting details of the ALC program and what you can do to ensure you have the best experience. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
