St. Jude School
October 19th 2018
From the Principal
Dear St. Jude School Families:
This school year your child will be taking benchmark tests called Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) in the fall, winter, and spring. Following each testing period, you will receive a report showing your child’s growth. I have included an attachment to help explain what is on the report and answer questions you may have when reviewing your child’s report.
MAP tests are unique in that they adapt to be appropriate for your child’s level of learning. As a result, each student has the same opportunity to succeed and maintain a positive attitude toward testing. And with MAP tests, we can administer shorter tests and use less class time while still receiving detailed, accurate information about your child’s growth.
If you have any questions, I encourage you to talk with your child’s teacher or administration.
Many blessing,
Mrs. Molly Hibler.

It's Box Top Time
2018-19 Box Top Submission deadlines are November 1 and March 1, so please keep those dates in mind as there are expiration dates on the box tops. Ideally, class collections in October and February to prepare for submission dates, bundled if you can in groups of 50 using an envelope or Ziploc type bag. Expired Box tops cannot be included for credit, so please remove these before sending into the classroom. Classroom contest for the most collected so make sure homeroom number is on submissions. PTO appreciates family effort/support as the money earned for the school will help fund school projects and events. Check out the BOX-Top Bonus App to earn even more for the school. This app is in addition to the code on products. Your store receipt can be uploaded for bonus points. Log into https://www.boxtops4education.com/ to learn more.

Ski Club Registration Extended
This year for the first time the Friday Night Ski Club did not produce paper fliers. To save on the cost, the information was sent via email instead. However, it was brought to our attention that some families did not receive the email, so we have extended the registration deadline until midnight, next Monday, October 22nd. You should find an electronic PDF copy of our club registration flyer attached to this email.
The club flyer provides only an abbreviated version of the information that describes how the ski club operates. For more in-depth information, the club has developed a webpage, FNskiClub.com. If you make a Google search for “The Friday Night Ski Club” the club’s webpage should pop up in the search results. The webpage provides detailed information about costs, supervision, optional bus transportation, the two-part online registration process and it even contains an excellent orientation video that shows just how a club program works.
The club registration process now ends next Monday, October 22, at midnight. After that time there will be a $25 per person late fee added. If you have any questions or run into any problems with the registration process, feel free to call our ski club director, Mr. Frank Humphery, at 440-452-2068.
