Willie Brown Elementary School receives $623.86 grant for…

Elementary Algebra – A Balanced Approach

Teacher Terri Franks & Assistant Principal Brenda Glass received a grant for $623.86 from the Mansfield ISD Education Foundation. Grant funds will be used to purchase 21sets of 10 mini math balances with weights per each 1st – 4th grade classroom (total of 21 classrooms). These balances will benefit students by providing a visual representation of the balance of equations and support basic understanding of algebra at an elementary level. This will support MISD’s guiding statement that students will demonstrate mastery of Algebra 1 by the end of the ninth grade.

Funding for this grant was provided through contributions to the Mansfield ISD Education Foundation by individual donors, businesses, corporations, and community service organizations. All Donations are tax deductible For more information, contact Linda Bacsik at (817)299.6354
