Valentines Day Celebrations/Food Policy
We are so excited to celebrate Kindness week next week with our students. Valentines Day falls within kindness week and we know this can be an exciting day for many of our students. To keep everyone safe and healthy, please do not send in food for your child’s class to celebrate. If any food items are sent in to be shared with the class, the items will be sent back home with the original sender - we appreciate your partnership and support with this!
Kindness Week Food Drive
As you all know our three clipper values are to Be Safe, Be Kind, and Be Responsible. Next week, we will be participating in a focus week highlighting many of the ways we can be kind. We are so excited to announce that we will also be hosting a Food Drive here at the Bresnahan to benefit our local communities! At our Kindness assembly on Friday the 9th we will be announcing how many items we collected as a school, showing just how much Kindness counts!
Thank you in advance for participating in this food drive however you are able to and please know that no donation is too small!

STEAM EXPO Volunteers needed
Do you have experience related to science, technology, engineering, art or math? Are you looking for an opportunity to share your knowledge with Bresnahan students? If so, the STEAM Expo is your chance!
The 2024 Bresnahan STEAM Expo will be Thursday May 23, 2024 (8-1:30). Exhibitors will run 4, 12-minute sessions per grade level. If you’d like to exhibit, please fill out this google form. If you have any questions, please contact Jamie Sokolowski (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The third grade leadership club is beginning a collection of new/gently used mittens and gloves. This group of students saw a need for this during the coldest winter months when some students may have forgotten or did not have something to cover their hands while playing outside. After collecting the donations, the group will disperse the items to the PE teachers, nurses and lunch/recess monitors to have available to anyone who may need to borrow a pair. Please consider donating some mittens or gloves of all sizes. The leadership group will provide a collection box by the front office for student or parent drop off during the weeks of February 12-16 and February 26-March 1.
Winter Weather Reminder from Nurses
Dear Parents and Guardians,
It has been great fun seeing all the students enjoying the winter weather and snow that has fallen recently. It is good to get fresh air and exercise.
Winter weather in Massachusetts is unpredictable. It can be frigid one day and warm in the 40’s with mud the next day. There can be snow one day followed by rain and mud. Please check the weather prior to arriving at school and send your student to school with appropriate clothing and outerwear/shoes.
We are also asking that you send in an extra set of clothes for your student to be kept in their locker or cubby. This will allow them to change from clothes that might have become damp, wet or muddy and have a more comfortable remainder to the day. Please include socks in this set of clothing, as these are the most requested items.
We are now able to accept clothing donations. We have a high need for medium sized pants and socks.
