Morning Meeting Lessons
The planned morning meeting lessons should be completed at this point. From here PBIS will work on lessons for morning meetings. The lessons that will be provided to you will go in the activity section of our morning meeting structure. Your flow of sections will stay the same (see below):
- Greeting
- Share
- Activity (this will be PBIS lessons)
- Message
Tuesday will remain your day for second steps and you will have the flexibility to have an additional day for second steps throughout the week if needed.
For this coming week we would like you to think about what your class needs in terms of expectation review, PBIS matrix, etc. You will be responsible for your own activities for the week of November 11-15.
PBIS committee will meet on November 12th and work on the structure for the lessons based on our discipline data. You will then receive a link to the lessons here in the newsletter as you have all year so far.
If you have any questions, please see Dawn or April.
PLC - Collaborative Norms
Presume Positive Intent
Assuming that others' intentions are positive promotes and facilitates meaningful dialogue and discussion, and prevents unintentional put-downs. Using positive intentions in speech is one manifestation of this norm.
Put Ideas on the Table
Ideas are the heart of meaningful dialogue and discussion. Label the intention of your comments. For example: "Here is one idea..." or "One thought I have is ..." or "Here is a possible approach..."" or "Another consideration might be ..."
There will be table tents for each team to have visible at meetings to support the practice of these norms to support collaboration.

Book Study Highlight
Kelly's Koaching Korner - Same-Different
Ideas to add in Holiday Fun
Same-Different is a very powerful cooperative learning structure. Students of any age quickly become totally engrossed as they play SameDifferent. It is an immediate favorite. The structure is very simple. Students sit across from each other viewing different pictures. Their job is to find out what is the same and what is different in their pictures, without seeing what the other sees.
The Same-Different Structure This link will take you to the PDF with the Same-Different structure for most holidays. Chapters 1 and 2 tell how to play and how to differentiate for all grades.
Thanksgiving This link will take you to our next holiday-can’t wait for our Thanksgiving break!
Your Help is Needed
If you see huge discrepancies in the guided reading bookroom, please let me know. Example: Some of our books have multiple levels on them. Thanks for helping keep our Guided Reading library organized!
Shout Outs for Staff
Thank you to everyone for the long hours this week for parent teacher conferences. Congrats to those newbies that survived their first conferences!!
Thank you for housing students who needed a little special time away. We appreciate you treating all students like OUR students!
