Message from Dr. Kriewaldt and Mrs. Kalina
Are we returning to School?
We have been fielding this question quite a bit lately. The answer is, "We do not know." The only definitive date we have heard from Governor Evers has been the initial closing through April 24th. Since that time State leaders have talked about an "indefinite" closing. As soon as we receive more formal guidance from the State or Federal level, we will get a local stance out to our families. We will make every effort to hold as many important events as we can while also honoring the limits and guidance provided by State leadership and Health Department officials.
State Parks, Playgrounds and Sports Fields are closed
While our playground has been roped off since the start of this emergency, as of 4/9/2020, the State trails are also closed. Early on we have received direct guidance regarding our playgrounds and fields. All of the playground areas of the schools are closed. The slides, swings, and recreational equipment are roped off at this time and will not be reopened until normal life resumes. These spaces are considered high risk for exposure of contracting/sharing the coronavirus. Our hope is to open them as soon as we receive the all clear sign.
As we approach a month of working together on this emergency, We would like to thank you for your ongoing support. We are very aware this event has impacted each family and student differently and please know we are here to help and assist in any way we can. Please know we will get through this and be stronger in the end. As a staff we are learning new ways to provide instruction and students are learning the value of being in a classroom and around friends. While we all appreciate a random snow day, I think the majority would agree that we miss being together at school.
Looking forward to seeing you all soon,
Dr. Kriewaldt and Mrs. Kalina
