Free State Student Council MOVIE NIGHT
Hi! My name is Ashley Mai, I am a part of the Free State High School Student Council. We’re hosting a movie night that is open to the community and we hope that your students and family will consider joining us! We will be showing The Polar Express at 6:30 and Home Alone at 8:45 on December 18th in the Free State HS Commons. Tickets will be sold at the door, $3 for one movie and $5 for both, per person! We also will be allowing outside food and drinks. Blankets are also encouraged but chairs will be provided. We were wondering if you could share our flyer in the school's weekly newsletter.
Thank you, Free State Student Council

Show Your Appreciation for our Teachers & Staff
with Snowman Gifts
Around the holidays, we like to say THANK YOU to our teachers and staff for all their hard work and dedication they give throughout the year. The Snowman Gifts program is back this year!
If you’d like to give your Deerfield staff and teachers something extra special, we can help! Those staff and teachers who choose to participate have provided us with Snowman Gift wish lists. Gift suggestions can include gift cards from their favorite retailers or restaurants, items for their classroom/work area, personal gifts or community appreciation projects.
Gift giving will be the week of Dec. 13 – 17th before we leave for our winter break. Emails have been provided if you’d like to send an email gift certificate.
To view and/or select a gift from a list, please access the following Google doc: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1V4LuKziY7b0BXcIHeSOJpxHuplsN7xW9yWLVYz9aAvI/edit?usp=sharing
Please notice the tabs at the bottom of the form to help direct you to the correct area/grade. To “claim” your gift, simply add your name in the “Sign up” cell. Please note that there are some items that can be gifted more than once. Please still sign up and separate your name with the other gift giver(s) with a comma.
If you have any questions, please email annierajaei@hotmail.com .
Happy holidays, Deerfield families!

Fourth Grade Representative Needed
for Class Spring Party Planning
Are you the parent of a fourth grader looking for an easy and fun way to become involved? Class parties are back, and although they look a little different this school year (with no volunteers in the building), we’re looking for a volunteer to head up planning for the Spring class party. Grade representatives coordinate party planning among all classrooms with a dedicated group of parent volunteers to help plan and provide supplies. Interested? Email ksdeerfieldpto@gmail.com for more information. (We do not have dates for parties yet)

Congrats to November Hy-Vee High 5 Winner Mrs. Williams
Congratulations to our Hy-Vee High 5 November winner, Mrs. Williams! Mrs. Williams is one of Deerfield’s amazing Special Education Teachers and was nominated by Mallory Lundin. Mallory thinks Mrs. Williams deserves a High 5 because she “cares deeply about her students and their learning needs. She brings out the best in them, encourages them to try new things, reach outside their comfort zones and do amazing things. She has one of the most demanding, most challenging jobs and she loves it, and we love her for it.” Congratulations to Mrs. Williams!
Our next HyVee High-5 winner will be announced in January. Submissions will be accepted through January 18th! Tell us who you think deserves a High 5 by completing this simple online Google form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1egAX9bBvrqNIx3tm0zfaP2fAUxTn2BZ7hXzD4ao3VAM/edit
The nominating student and winning staff member will receive prizes, donated by Hy-Vee, and will be celebrated in this newsletter.
