Wildcat Weekly Update
March 4, 2022
Sublimity Families,
We are approaching a hinge point and school this Spring will likely be a different experience compared with the Fall and Winter. As you know, March 14 will bring the end of required masking, contact tracing, and several other regulations and allow us to get back to a mode of operation similar to what school has looked like in past years. You can read more about how the district is preparing for these updates in Superintendent Gardner’s recent letter to families.
A big focus for our Sublimity classrooms this coming week will be to prepare students for these changes by having safe conversations about students’ hopes and fears. For example, most students are excited but others plan to continue wearing masks, or are nervous about removing them for a variety of reasons. Know that we will support students in their decisions to wear or not wear a mask and strive to cultivate a culture of acceptance and understanding. I have no doubt that our students and staff will rise to that high standard, but we highly encourage parents to have their own conversations with students about this change in case there is any unspoken apprehension.
Here are a few dates and reminders we want all families to be aware of:
Planned Absence Forms
Please contact the office 2-3 days in advance for planned absences to get a planned absence form. This helps ensure that teachers have adequate time to prepare homework.
