North Glendale Family Update

September 12, 2021

Good morning!

As I mentioned in my phone call Thursday evening, we begin construction on our new, accessible front entrance MONDAY! This is going to be such a positive enhancement for our school community (Thanks to Prop R!) even though the 6 weeks or so of construction will be a little ....inconvenient!

Please know that the entire front door structure will be completely off limits for 6 weeks. Walk in traffic will be diverted to the Chelsea door. For the time being, you will have to call the front office when you arrive at that door. We will have a tub outside for you to leave any items your kids have forgotten.

You should have heard from your teacher about any changes to their dismissal routines for taking walkers outside. For walkers/bike riders in the morning, kids will need to use either the North (parking lot) door or the South (Chelsea side door).

The first few days will be loud as they are demolishing the current structure but it will all be worth it, when every NG student and adult can enter the front door regardless of mobility challenges!

Please reach out if I can be of support,

Jennifer

Greentree Weekend ~ September 18 and 19

We are coming up to one of my favorite times of the year ~ The Greentree Festival weekend!

We missed this last year so this year will be extra special. Every KSD elementary school traditionally. hosts a float int he Saturday parade and this year, and plans are underway to knock the socks off of the community.

The even better news??? EVERYONE in the NG community is invited to participate!

Three opportunities to participate:

Greentree Parade Entry workday

Sunday September 12th, 10-12 in the NG Pavilion

Help us assemble our soon-to-be award winning float!

Greentree Parade!

ALL ARE INVITED TO WALK WITH OUR FLOAT on Saturday 9/18.

The parade steps off at 10:00 a.m., Saturday morning, September 18.

We will share details about where to meet us and what time, next week!

Or, of course, cheer for us along the parade route! The parade begins at Kirkwood High School, goes east on Essex to Kirkwood Rd., south on Kirkwood Rd. to Argonne, west on Argonne, ending at the Kirkwood Community Center.

Raise $$ for NG Just By Doing Your Usual!

You can make the money you spend everyday go even further!

Redeeming Coke products for cash is as easy as entering a code from the bottle or case (or sending into the office and we will do it for you!). INFO HERE.

The traditional Box Top fundraiser has gotten even easier ~ there's an app for that!
