Dear Parents and Carers,
I am so proud of the way in which our children and families have embraced our first ever Pride Day at Kirk Fenton! It was wonderful to see how the children chose to come into school and the array of bright colours was lovely. Children naturally embrace diversity and it has been wonderful to listen to their views and support for difference in our community and further afield. This is an event that will become an annual fixture in our calendar. Thank you for your support.
Next week is another busy week in school with Y3 Sharks having a forest school day on Tuesday and our moving up days on Wednesday and Thursday. On these days, the children should go straight to their new classes and also be collected from there, where their teachers will meet them. We are looking forward to having Mr Priory join us for both days and Mr Carman on Thursday.
School is full of buzz as the older children practice for their end of year production which promises to be wonderful. I am sure the last 3 week of term will go by in a flash!
Have a lovely weekend,
Karen Williams

Numbots
Well done to all our KS1 and FS children that have worked hard on Numbots this week. There were lots of names in the raffle box! Special congratulations to Austin B who was the lucky winner!
Our certificates this week go to Senna C, Toby M and Finlay O - well done!
Next week our challenge is to improve our scores so if you spend more time practising, or earn more coins than you did this week then you will be entered into the raffle. Who will be next week's winner?
Times Tables Rock Stars
Another great week on TTRockstars! The children have been working really hard to complete this week's challenge! Our certificate winners are: Mollie in Tigers, William in Sharks, Emma in Earthwords, Olivia in Jaguars, and Liam in Wolves. Well done to all. Our Challenge next week will be to improve your studio speed. Remember, if you complete the challenge, your name will be in the raffle box for a prize.
Sports for Champions!
Everyone enjoyed being active and having fun during our circuits challenge on Monday. Martin was very inspiring and gave us the important message to try new things because you never know if that will turn out to be something you love!
As a school, our grand total for our fundraising is £775 - well done everyone! A portion of the money goes to funding the event and supporting the athletes and we will be spending our share of the funds on some new sporting books for the library. Super effort everyone!
Year 5 and 6 Football Tournament
Last week, 16 children from year 5 and 6 represented the school at Sherburn Hungate School for a football tournament. We had a great day and the children showed amazing sportsmanship, determination, and resilience. Despite never playing together as a team, the children did themselves proud. It was a tough tournament but they never stopped trying. Well done to Oscar and Freya who won Kirk Fenton's player of the tournament.
