THE BEST SCHOOL ... IN THE UNIVERSE!
Our Why!
In our school community, we are passionate about meeting all learners where they are in service of each realizing their innate and extraordinary human potential. This is our great work!
Care to join us?
IMPORTANT
We will be implementing an additional safety measure at Cascade View to complete this school year. The only door at our school that remains unlocked during the school day is the front entrance door leading into the front office. From this point on, that door will be locked and all visitors will have to be identified by office staff before gaining entrance. If we recognize you, the door will be remotely unlocked and you will be waved in to sign in and follow all existing check in procedures if you are picking up your child early, volunteering, or conducting other previously approved business at school. If we do not recognize you, you will need to show your identification, speak through the door your purpose for being here, OR (and this is recommended for everyone), call ahead so that we can be prepared to expect you and welcome you in.
We trust you all understand our rationale for implementing this additional safety measure--even though it may feel a little less welcoming at the start. That being said, if you have an approved reason for coming to campus, call ahead and clearly identify yourself. We will enthusiastically welcome you and thank you for continuing your strong partnership with us.
IMPORTANT REMINDER TO PARENTS
Students should not be dropped at school prior to 8:20 a.m. as we do not provide supervision outside until that time. The front doors for students to go to their classroom open at 8:25 a.m.

Reminder: Tdap Immunization Requirement for 7th grade
Dear Parent or Guardian,
As of August 1, 2020 the required Tdap vaccine has changed to 7th grade to better align with the updated 2019 national immunization schedule (https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/schedules/hcp/imz/child-adolescent.html). In the past, the Tdap booster was required for all 6th grade students, unless they have a provider-signed exemption form.
For the 2022-2023 school year, all students attending grades 7 through 12 must have one dose of Tdap vaccine, before starting school.
• For students in 7th grade, the Tdap vaccine must be given at or after age 10 to be accepted for school entry.
• For students in 8th to 12th grades, the Tdap vaccine must be given at or after age 7 to be accepted for school entry.
To update your child's Tdap immunization record at the school, you will need to turn in a medically verified immunization record. Your child's health care provider can print this for you, or you can print it from MylR, which is a free Department of Health online tool that allows families to view and print their official immunization records themselves. Go to https://wa.myir.net/register to begin the sign-up process.
To find out more about this change, or the updated August 1, 2020 law, please visit the Washington State Department of Health's website at www.doh.wa.gov/schoolimms2020.
We highly recommend parents schedule an appointment for your 6th grade student to receive this vaccine ASAP, if they haven’t already received it. Please bring confirmation, as outlined above, to middle school registration in August. Thank you!
Cascade View Healthroom
Make sure your child's immunizations are up to date!
It is important to make sure your child goes to their regularly scheduled wellness appointments, which often include immunizations. The summer months are a great time to get your child caught up with immunization requirements before the 2022-2023 school year. Schedule your appointments early, as health care providers’ schedules quickly fill up in August and September. Make sure to turn in your updated immunization paperwork to the school by Wednesday, September 7.
Every student enrolled/registered in school or childcare in the state of Washington must have medically verified up-to-date immunization records on file with the school in which they are enrolled/registering before the first day of school 2022-2023. Medically verified immunization records include one or more of the following:
- A Certificate of Immunization Status (CIS) printed from the Immunization Information System (IIS)
- A physical copy of the CIS form with a healthcare provider signature
- A physical copy of the CIS form with accompanying medical immunization records from a healthcare provider verified and signed by school staff
- A CIS printed from MyIR

FAQs
If I am approved for ACP and currently on an internet service plan with a provider, can I switch to a different internet service plan of that provider, including to that provider’s low-cost plan, and receive the ACP benefit?
- Yes. The ACP benefit can be applied to any internet service offering, and providers cannot restrict you from switching service offerings or subject you to mandatory waiting periods. Sometimes providers prohibit existing customers from switching to low-cost internet service plans; however, consumers receiving the ACP benefit are not subject to these “existing customer” restrictions.
What happens if my provider has eligibility requirements for an internet service plan that conflict with ACP rules? (e.g. My provider requires that I pay off my past debts before signing up for XYZ internet service plan)
- ACP rules override the rules of participating providers in the context of an ACP consumer. For instance, a provider may generally require that consumers pay off past or present debts before signing up for XYZ internet service plan. However, consumers who are approved to receive ACP benefits are not subject to that requirement (since the ACP rules prohibit providers from declining to enroll ACP consumers based on past or present debts).
Note: The ACP rules clearly allow ACP consumers to apply their benefit to any internet service offering that is generally available (i.e. not a grandfathered/legacy plan) and prohibit mandatory waiting periods (47 CFR 54.1808(e)(6)(iii)) and restrictions on switching plans (Para. 166 of the Report and Order).
After School Transportation Arrangement Changes
Please be sure to contact the school office as early in the day as possible when there is a change in your child's after school transportation arrangements. You may send in a signed note or call the office in the morning to change arrangements. We ask for your help in this matter in order to get all of our kids safely home each day.
In order to ensure a safe and timely dismissal, we will stop answering our office phone at 2:45 p.m. (12:45 p.m. on Friday) and, therefore, will not be able to implement any changes to your student's transportation arrangements after that time.
Thank you for your understanding.
School Dress Code
Our weather seems to change daily around here, so just a reminder to send your student(s) to school with a warm coat on those rainy and cold days!
Students will wear appropriate school attire, including shoes. Appropriate attire shall exclude any type of dress or manner of grooming which school officials reasonably believe would disrupt or interfere with the school environment, activities and/or educational process. School officials will work with students, parents, and teachers to communicate descriptions of dress considered disruptive to the educational process. The following are not permitted:
* Attire that shows or displays undergarments and inadequately covers chest/breasts, midriff, buttocks, and thighs. Shoulder straps must be 1 inch in width (e.g., no spaghetti straps, halter tops, tube tops, etc.)
* Shorts, skirts, and skorts must extend past the wearer’s finger tips when standing straight with arms extended at side.
* Attire that displays obscene, sexual, drug or alcohol related messages; or displays gang-related symbolism.
* Any clothing that would create an atmosphere in which a student, staff member, or other person’s well-being is hindered by undue pressure, behavior, intimidation, overt gesture or threat of violence.
* Pants must be secured at the waist and cover the stomach and underwear.
Volunteers
At this time, only vaccinated individuals will be permitted to volunteer in our schools/campuses. Additionally, we will limit the volunteers at school in order to continue to honor close contact distancing; and until the mask mandates get lifted, all volunteers will need to stay masked, as well. Because every volunteer needs to have an educationally sound purpose for being on campus, you will make an appointment with a teacher or staff member for the day and time of your service--then you will check in at the front office to receive your visitor's badge. We will welcome you back with open arms--whether or not we are still masked.
To volunteer in our schools/campuses, please complete the following online form. This form must be completed every two years. For the safety of our students, volunteer applicants must undergo a Washington State Patrol background check before beginning service. Volunteers will also need to present a valid state vaccination card for COVID-19 to the school administrator and follow the school’s volunteer process. Schools may need to monitor and limit the number of volunteers in a building to meet the state COVID-19 guidelines for social distancing. Parent/guardians are welcome to volunteer from home by assisting teachers remotely.
Volunteers who have completed the background application and showed proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required to:
- Sign in at the school main office
- Present proper state ID
- Maintain 6-foot social distancing
- Wear a proper fitting mask/face covering
- Follow all school and district COVID-19 protocols and procedures
- Stay home if experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms
