Woodford County EL Update
'Cause we're some AWESOME ladies!
Ladies! Here are some resources, a fun video, an event and some pictures from my recent adventures. I thought this was a fun platform to share information! Enjoy.
Multicultural books!
The public library has some amazing multicultural books. I have been doing extensive research on books that are authentic voices for many diverse groups and try to use them as model texts or incorporate them into lessons.
We speak....AND English!
My students made signs listing the languages they speak so we could highlight how we speak many languages!
Networking!
While in DC for a conference, I was able to see how other school districts advertise for bilingual & bicultural education. How neat!
It's Free! :)
Click on the title above for a excellent, free resource for sight words and phonemic awareness. This website provides picture cards and sample lessons. I find that the picture cards have been very useful and that you can still tell what they are when printed in black and white.
