Mustangs Sports Roundup
January 5, 2021
Message from the Athletic Director
Happy New Year Mustangs!
2021 has finally arrived and I'm looking forward to what this year has in store for us. This week, we are scheduled to see our first competitions since March of 2020. I would like to think everyone for their support and patience over the past 9 months or so. This has been an incredible journey and we're excited to see our students back on the playing field, competing against other schools.
As an athletic community, we have done a great job of keeping each other safe and I just want to send out a friendly reminder as we embark on the competition season.
Please keep your student home if they or anyone in the household experiences any of the following:
● Feeling feverish and/or having chills (if documented temperature/fever of 100.4F or greater)
● A new cough not due to another health condition
● Extreme Fatigue
● Nasal congestion or runny nose
● Headache
● A new sore throat not due to another health condition
● New chills not due to another health condition
● New muscle pain not due to another health condition or that may have been caused by a specific activity such as physical exercise
● New loss of taste or smell, new onset of poor appetite or poor feeding
● Abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting
● Awaiting Covid Test Results
See Below for a few Important announcements regarding our *New* Online Sports Registration which will be required for Fall (February) and Spring sports and a schedule of events
Sincerely,
Marvin Wooten
*New Online Sports Registration
Each family will create an account and from this account, can register their student(s) for various athletic opportunities. While registering does not guarantee a spot on the team, this information will help to ensure your student is ready to go on the first day of tryouts. Students can be registered for one or more activities throughout the year and families can sign in as needed to update information.
Families will still need to submit a VHSL Physical form dated after May 1, 2020. Those physicals can be uploaded via online registration or emailed directly to our Athletic Trainer, Vicki Galliher at galliherv@fccps.org
Only PDF copies of physicals will be accepted. No photos please.
Families who have already submitted their concussion education verification form and Handbook Acknowledgement form will be asked to verify again as part of the registration process. We do apologize for any inconvenience- please bear with us as we make this change.
