Life Skills News
Spring Break is March 24-April 8 (if we have no snow days).
Daylight Savings Time
This is the weekend to change your clocks forward! It will be hard to drive to school in the dark again. I was just getting used to having the sun in my eyes! Having it light at night will be nice, though. They also suggest changing batteries in your smoke alarms, even if they're not chirping.
Digital Citizenship
We will be hosting our second Digital Citizenship Parent Night next Wednesday, March 14 from 6-7:30 in the cafetorium. Indiana state trooper, Eric Fields, will be presenting information about internet safety. We will also have breakout sessions on sexting and internet safety, as well as screen time and how to parent children who have grown up with technology in their lives.
School Musical - Sister Act
This year's musical is a presentation of Broadway's smash musical hit, "Sister Act"! It will be Friday, March 16 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 18 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 each for adults and $3 each for students. It's always a lot of fun!
Planning Ahead for You Child
There will be a very important meeting Monday, April 16 from 6:00-7:30. It will be in Rm. 325 at the Center for Family Opportunity (the old hospital) in Winchester. A light supper will be served. Gordon Homes will be speaking about guardianships, waivers, ABLE accounts, and public benefits. He has lots of information about what happens after graduation. He is a financial planner, but this is NOT a sales meeting. If you have questions, please let me know.
