November Students of Distinction!

Looking for Some Exercise over Thanksgiving Break?

Buffett Teacher Featured!
"I feel very honored because there are so many wonderful teachers in the Nebraska Art Teachers Association who do amazing work, so to be recognized was a huge honor for me," said McClintock.
The award goes to an association member who teaches and makes additional outstanding contributions in art education beyond the classroom.
"The award really highlighted to me how blessed I am to work at Buffett and with OPS," added McClintock. "There's such a standard of excellence here that our work is being seen across the district and even across the state."

Snow Days are Changing in OPS
The frost outside last Wednesday morning made it clear: winter weather is fast approaching. We know this year has presented challenges unlike any other, so it is especially important to maintain student engagement even if winter weather gets in the way of learning at school. Thanks to our 1 to 1 Technology Initiative, we now have the opportunity to support students with teaching and learning at home.
"Live," or synchronous teaching and learning will take place in the morning, with teacher availability for questions or additional support in the early afternoon with Office Hours from 1-2pm. Teachers will take attendance.
Here's the adjusted bell schedule for snow days:
1/2 Block: 8:40-9:10
3/4 Block: 9:15-9:45
5/6 Block: 9:50-10:20
7/8 Block: 10:25-10:55
Office Hours: 1-2pm

iPad Charger Information
Has Your Student Lost Their Buffett Assigned Charger?
Per the Technology User Agreements signed by parents and students, accessories (chargers and bags) are not covered by the Apple Warranty or the Optional Protection Plan.
LOST Charger and Cable: The replacement cost of a lost charger (brick and cable) is $38.
LOST Charger (brick): $19
LOST Cable: $19
Unfortunately, we ask that you do not purchase your own charger to replace the lost one. Only Apple brand chargers are allowed. Off-brand chargers or chargers that are not the right voltage tend to wear on the iPad battery or cause charging issues with the iPad.
To ensure this does not happen we ask that you report the charger lost and allow us to provide a new charger rather than trying to purchase one on your own. A fine can be assessed for you to pay.
