11.10.23 Family Message
Greetings Gearity Families
We have school tomorrow! The CHUH schools value the contributions of the veterans in our community, but we do not have Veterans day off. Our next school break will be Wednesday, November 22nd when we start Thanksgiving Break.
Gearity has a big week coming up with the Book Fair starting on Monday and running through Friday. Wednesday night we will host our Family Math and Literacy Night. Everyone who attends will be able to make a Menchie's style ice cream sundae. We are inviting Career Tech Ambassadors to share information about STEM based programs at the high school. Hopefully, we will have robotics, engineering, medical and auto tech demonstrations. Many of the High School Programs offer free college credit for students who earn an industry credential. It is never to early to start to think about future careers which starts with building a solid numeracy and literacy foundation for your students.
Have a great weekend,
Patrick McNichols
Principal
Fostering Resilience: Empowering Parents of Children with Exceptional Needs
Join the ECAG for an inspiring event that aims to support and empower parents of children with exceptional needs. This in-person gathering will take place at Coventry Peace Campus 2843 Washington Boulevard, Cleveland Heights, OH, 44118, December 8, 2023 6pm-7:30pm. We believe that every parent deserves the tools and knowledge to help their child thrive, no matter the challenges they face. Through engaging talks, and networking opportunities, we will explore strategies for fostering resilience in both parents and children. Come and connect with other parents who understand your journey, and leave feeling empowered and supported. Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to gain valuable insights and build a strong community of parents facing similar experiences. Together, we can make a difference!

Annual Update in Infinite Campus Needs to be Completed for Returning Families
All CH-UH K-12 parents and guardians must complete an Annual Update for the 2023-2024 school year through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Three years ago, the online Annual Update replaced the paper “blue cards” that were sent home to parents/guardians at the start of the year to collect emergency contact and medical information. Reminders about this process have been sent to families through school newsletters and the District’s Weekly Bulletin.
Beginning November 27, 2023, if your child's Annual Update for the 2023-2024 school year has not been completed, they will not be permitted to participate in field trips, sports, or extra-curricular activities. It’s extremely important that we have the most up-to-date emergency contact and medical information for your child when they are participating in such activities.
The Annual Update allows you to:
Update your email address and phone number, which are used to contact you about emergencies, school closings, and general information
Update your child’s Emergency Contacts
Add or update your child’s Emergency Medical Authorization
Sign off on your child’s District photo/media release
Please note that the Annual Update is separate from the information that parents/guardians submit through Final Forms for student athletes.
Find the instructions to complete the Annual Update here. You will need to have an Infinite Campus account to complete your Annual Update; if you do not have an Infinite Campus account, click here to request one. We will also provide families with the opportunity to complete their Annual Updates at upcoming Parent-Teacher Conference Nights.
If you have issues logging into Infinite Campus or completing the Annual Update, please contact the Data Department at icportal@chuh.org.
Thank you for your time and attention to this important request.
