ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THE WEEK OF AUGUST 6-10, 2018
Leadership Team Meeting: Please plan to meet at 7:45 on Thursday, August 9 in the Media Center.
Safety: We have had several reports from security and staff of doors and windows being left ajar. In order to maintain the safety of staff, students and expensive resources please enter and exit the building using the card reader doors. ALL card reader doors on all wings MUST REMAIN CLOSED and LOCKED before, during, and after school. Exit doors to the outside on K/1 wing are especially vulnerable to miscellaneous critters, not to mention allowing students out and non-signed in individuals in so MUST be kept closed at all times when not being used. If K/1 exterior doors are used to access the playground close and secure the door behind you. Return to the building through the locked card reader doors. At the end of the day please check that your windows are secure. All of these precautions will help make Pleasant Union a safe environment to learn.
Lunch: IF you have not turned in your seating chart, please do so. Copies are in the PUE Master Folder and in the notebook in the cafeteria.
We had 22 families eat with students this past Friday. PLEASE ENCOURAGE THEM TO JOIN US MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY, IF AT ALL POSSIBLE so we can accommodate our classrooms and guests. Students come first and the last thing we want to do is tell them that we are too crowded to accommodate their visit. If people have concerns, please direct them to Mr. Biles or Mrs. Fricke. Also, please reiterate that they can only eat with one friend.
FILL IN DUTY: TRACK 3 OUT; Teachers/other staff may be asked to fill in based on a rotating basis. You will be notified by the office staff ASAP. Carpool: If it is lightning, safety patrol will be called in and staff need to assist with carpool. If this occurs, you will hear an announcement asking for extra help. Thank you to all of you that helped this past week. We understand that it is forecast to rain next week and we may need to ask again! (If it seems as if we are also in jeopardy, carpool will have to wait until it is safe, at which time another announcement will be made.) If you feel unsafe at any time doing duty, of course, let someone know.
