Principal's Note
Hello Ramsey Families,
Ramsey along with many schools across MN is celebrating Black History Month. On Monday, February 14, we are celebrating National African American Parent Involvement Day. Normally our building would be open to families to visit and see student presentations, however, we are not able to do so due to the pandemic. Our students wanted to share some of their learning and projects with you, so please take some time to watch the video linked in this newsletter. We hope you enjoy this and it sparks some conversation with your student regarding Black Americans who have made amazing contributions to society.
Ms. Vibar

Central Showcase - Feb. 16th
Debate Team
Saturday, February 12 - Tournament Canceled: We regret to inform you that we have had to cancel our participation for the tournament scheduled this Saturday, February 12. We will reschedule our Saturday tournament for Saturday, March 19 and apologize for this inconvenience!
Next Tournament - We will compete virtually on Thursday, February 17 at 4:00 pm. Please reach out to Ms. Hart or Ms. Bannon if you have any questions!
Debate T-shirts are on their way! T-shirts will be available for pickup in Ms. Hart or Ms. Bannon's room beginning on February 11.
Want to Volunteer?
We have a new volunteering opportunity at Ramsey! Beginning February 7th, the afterschool program (Flipside) will host a "Homework Help" class. The session will be led by a Math Corps team member, but it would be great to have one or two extra adults in the room to help kids out!
"Homework Help" will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3 - 5 PM. f you are interested or want more information, you can reach out to Ramsey's Flipside Coordinator, Teanna, at teanna.rouillard@spps.org. This position is very flexible! Can you only commit to Mondays? Can you only commit to Mondays in March? Or even just one Monday or Wednesday here or there? We can probably make that work. Just ask Teanna!
**Please note that volunteers will be required to pass a background check (the Ramsey PTO gladly covers the cost of this), as well as certifying with the district that they are either vaccianated against COVID or testing weekly for possible infection. Masks are required inside Ramsey.
