Montamat Minutes!
Meeting the social/emotional needs of our students. We will review and clarify the PBIS initiatives so far:
1) P4C - Our shared progressive classroom behavior management plan
2) P3 - The targeted days to collectively engage in purposeful inclusions of small, kind, positive moments
3) Patriot Prize - A small celebration and earned privilege for students making good choices
4) Rawlinson Recess - A campus-wide program wherein students earn free, fun time for making good choices, and students who are struggling receive targeted activities related to social/emotional learning
The following week in department meetings, departments coordinators will help clarify Rawlinson Recess logistics, and address misconceptions or confusion about other PBIS initiatives.
This will be followed by faculty learning around how we measure progress for SIP goal 1, and how we each play a role in the social/emotional development of our diverse group of students.
Next on deck, the admin/counseling team are coordinating efforts to systematically identify struggling students using specific data, and ensuring they receive a continuum of services. In addition, we are looking into our own learning about restorative discipline with plans to integrate that into our PBIS efforts next school year.
We hope everyone is able to see the vision, and we appreciate everyone's commitment to the mindset and learning around this process.
