April is Autism Awareness Month
The FCPS Autism Services and Support Team is hosting an event for our families of students with autism as April is Autism Awareness Month. The goal of this month is to accept and advocate for those on the spectrum, as well as to amplify autistic voices.
During this inaugural event, families and students will have the opportunity to seek academic, vocational, recreational, social, and therapeutic community resources for autism, while also getting the chance to network with one another. They say it takes a village to raise a child; we want to help our families of students with autism find theirs. To share with families, please follow this link.

Final Notice
While it is our goal to provide a safety net and personalized alternative for teenagers who need a nontraditional and accelerated pathway to graduate, Success Academy may not always be the best option for some students. Therefore, it is sometimes necessary for students to explore other educational opportunities for obtaining their high school credentials.
Students who consistently fail to meet expectations after interventions have been implemented, may be subject to dismissal from the program. The following documents will be reviewed: Student Summary Report, Credit Summary Report, PLP log, Attendance, 60 and 90 day contracts, Odysseyware Course Percentage Completion Report, Odysseyware Daily Activity Report, Information for Alternative Options high School Credential, Withdrawal Form, and any additional pertinent information
Final Notice letters will be mailed this week to students who are no longer attending school or completing assignments in Odysseyware.
This letter serves as a final notice of a student's lack of progress and/ performance as a student enrolled with The Success Academy. Please be reminded students in good standing are expected to complete 20 hours of Odysseyware work each week and in-person school attendance. Due to lack of progress and performance, students were placed on a 90 day contract. Performance since being placed on the 90 day contract will be reviewed.
Due to the lack of progress and non-attendance students have been placed on our pending withdrawal list. After receiving the Final Notice letter, if we do not hear from the student or their parent/guardian and the student does not return to in person instruction immediately they will be withdrawn from the program. There are other programs that we feel would benefit the student's needs at this time and we would love to meet with you to discuss those other options. Please contact Mr. Sims by April 22, 2022 to schedule a time to discuss other educational opportunities.

Under state law, families should notify their child’s school within 24 hours of learning the child has tested positive for COVID-19. FCPS employees who test positive must also inform the district. Fayette County Public Schools has established a COVID-19 Hotline for processing these notifications, which must be submitted to the Kentucky Department for Public Health.
Please choose one of these three ways to alert FCPS:
- Call (859) 381-FCPS (3277),
- Email the COVID-19 Hotline to request a follow-up phone call to report the details, or
- Submit your name and phone number via this online form.
Families and staff may also email the COVID-19 team for follow-up phone contact to gather additional information or to address any questions.
