Hello, Collin's family! We are currently getting ready for our 1st-2nd grade concert, and our kiddos could not be more excited to share all of their hard work with you! In preparation for our performance we wanted to share a few details to make sure that our concert goes as smoothly as possible. Our performance this year is nature themed so we are asking that first graders come dressed in yellow, and second graders come dressed in blue. This concert will be taking place on Tuesday Apr 5, 2022 at 5:30 pm in the Collins cafeteria. We ask that you sign your kids in at the gym by 5:15 pm so that we can rehearse before the performance. Once the evening is over, please come pick up your kiddos by checking them out of the gym on the sign in sheet. We are so excited to show off our talented students, and we look forward to seeing you all then!

Parent Volunteers

We are excited to begin having our wonderful parent volunteers on campus during the day again!

If you are interested in volunteering on campus, please contact our parent liaison, Araceli.Mcbeth@dvisd.net

We are currently organizing parent volunteers to help with laminating, copying, bulletin boards, textbook inventory, preparing learning materials and supporting teacher preparation.

We also are seeking a few long-term volunteers who can help in our library 1x week. This role will require a training on our library systems.

Please email Araceli to coordinate times, dates and training.

Lockdown Drill Scheduled April 1st

On Friday, April 1st, at 8:30 AM, Newton Collins will conduct a lockdown drill. The purpose of this drill is for students and staff to practice processes and procedures should an emergency on campus occur. Several police officers will be present to lead our campus in the drill. Teachers will review the processes and procedures for a lockdown drill with their students prior to the drill.

Please assist us in reminding your child that a drill will take place on Friday, April 1st. Also, please note that no one will be allowed on or off the campus during the drill. There will be signs posted to notify anyone who might be attempting to visit the campus. If you have any questions, please contact any campus administrator.
