Rebekah Howard-Hickman

BA Early Childhood Education

A little bit about me...

Hi! My name is Rebekah Howard-Hickman but I go by Bekah. I am a mother of two children and I am also wife. My children, like many others, are a huge reason I wanted to get back into school. I want to provide the best life I can with them and being educated is the number one way to get me into that position. I owned a daycare that is called In God’s Hands Daycare. I successfully ran my business for four years, but just recently closed to take care of my children and focus on school. Children and education are my passion. They are the future, and I want to help be the doorway into the world of learning and education for them. I have been at Ashford since 2012. I plan on continuing on with Ashford after I graduate to finish out my BA in Early Childhood Education, and then continuing on to graduate school for my MA in Education.

A few of my hobbies are reading, writing, playing video games, sewing, DIY projects, and cooking for my family. I joined the CHAMPS Peer Mentoring Program because I have a passion for helping others. I know how hard life can get, but I also know that the feeling of accomplishment far outweighs the struggles we face daily.
