Westport Heights Elementary School: Core Values
Caring can be shown in many ways at a school. One of the ways to share Kudos across our community is to give KUDOS. When you care, you can "...spend time emphasizing the positive experiences... Just like you say “thank you” to a cashier for your change (aka “just doing their job”), giving a quick appreciation is polite, respectful, and an important part of building...relationships. It’s nice to know you are appreciated, even when it’s just the smaller moments!" [excerpt from KudosNow.com] See our Kudos of the Week below to highlight a few of those moments at WHES...
Kudos: Thank you Parents! WHES Cares. We want to take the time to give KUDOS to parents: 1- Parents who volunteered to speak for Career Day. We enjoyed the pilot, engineer, lawyer, analyst, chef, physical therapist, and football player/talent scout who came out to speak to our community! | Kudos: Thank you Staff! WHES Cares. We want to take the time to give KUDOS to STAFF: 1- Thank you teachers for coming in to set up your classrooms. We appreciate the time it takes to make a welcoming room environment prepared for our students when they return in addition to teaching from home! 2- Thank you fourth and fifth grade teachers for your patience with Career Day as we worked the kinks out of your Zoom room. 3- Thank you, Mrs. Blanca Espinoza, for securing the speakers for Career Day and making sure that the day happened for our students! It could not have happened without your hard work! | Kudos: Thank you Students! WHES Cares. We want to take the time to give KUDOS to: 1-For asking great questions during Career Day and being respectful listeners and learners! 2- The students who are practicing for their return to campus hybrid learning - wearing masks, frequently washing hands, and practicing social distancing. The more you practice, the more you will be prepared to return to campus. |
