Tornado Forecast of Upcoming Events
April 28th: Anoka Prom 2023
- 8:30pm to 11:00pm at Parkview Meeting & Event Center at Mall of America
- Ticket go on sale via ParentVue on Wednesday, April 19
- Ticket pick up begins on Thursday, April 20 during lunches
May 1st: Late start for students.
- School begins for students at 8:30 am.
- Student transportation will operate under normal timelines.
- Students who arrive before 8:20, will be required to stay in the cafeteria, the main lobby, or the library to work on class assignments quietly.
Prom will be held at the Parkview Meeting + Event Center at Mall of America on Friday, April 28th from 8:30pm-11:00pm. Tickets for this private, formal event are $40 a piece (includes traditional dj/dancing, desserts/beverages, photo booth, parking, access to rides at Nickelodeon Universe). Prom tickets will only be for sale on SchoolPay- parents/guardians are only able to purchase tickets online. All outstanding fees must be paid before tickets can be purchased. Detentions must be cleared and overdue library books must be turned in before tickets can be picked up. Anoka students will be able to purchase one additional ticket for an outside guest or underclassmen provided a guest form is approved.
Online ticket sales will be open Wednesday 4/19/23- Tuesday 4/25/23 on ParentVue.
Physical ticket pick up will be Thursday 4/20/23-Wednesday 4/26/23 at all lunches.
Guest Forms must be signed by the students AP and presented when you pick up the physical prom tickets. Underclassmen guests: Completed forms will be taken to Ms. Curtis, who will allow underclassmen to purchase their tickets online. Underclassmen will then give their guest form to Ms. Pelzel when they pick up their physical ticket at lunch. Outside guests: Anoka students should bring their completed outside guest form to the prom ticket table and purchase their guest ticket with $40 cash.

Senior Recognition Night
Congratulations to all the seniors who were recognized on Senior Recognition Night on April 20!
Special Recognition Awards are presented to those students who have shown exemplary performance and achievement in a particular activity or academic area. Recipients are selected by activity advisors, entire departmental staffs and in some cases their peers. Below are some of the seniors recognized that night.

Class of 2023 - Community Scholarship Recipients
Seniors who have been selected as a recipient for one or more of our local community scholarships will be notified via email. Please ask your senior to check his/her school email account at the end of the school day on Monday, April 24th to see if he/she has been selected to receive a community scholarship. Only those seniors receiving a scholarship will be notified.
The scholarship ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 16th at 7:00 p..m. in the high school auditorium.

Anoka Girls Lacrosse celebrates Teacher Appreciation Night!
Anoka Cheer Clinic and Tryouts are coming up!
Anoka cheer is having cheer clinic and tryouts May 1st-3rd after school in the fieldhouse. This is for all athletes entering grades 9-12 next fall.
Whether you have cheer experience or not, we are looking for ALL potential athletes interested in giving this a try!!
Anoka Alpine Spring Clothing Drive!
The Anoka Alpine Spring Clothing Drive for the Epilepsy Foundation is happening on Saturday, April 29th from 8:00 am to Noon as part of the Anoka Spring Recycling Event.

Culver's Night for Anoka Boys Tennis!
The Anoka Boys Tennis booster club is organizing a fundraiser at Culver's on May 2. 10% of sales between 5-7pm on May 2 will go to towards the Boys Tennis Team. You do not need to show the flyer or mention Anoka Tennis.

This Saturday is the Spring Spectacular!
The Anoka-Hennepin Career and College Specialists are excited to be hosting our first annual Spring Spectacular on Saturday, April 22 from 8:30-11:00 a.m. This event will highlight a variety of career and college planning options for students and families. The format will include a mix of scheduled sessions and open fair times.

College Dollars & Sense - Free Summer Student Program
Flint Hills Family Festival, coming to AMSA for free pop-up event!
A partnership with one of the leading U.S. performing art centers will bring a free art experience to Anoka Middle School for the Arts (AMSA) April 27. The Flint Hills Family Festival is presented by the Ordway.
This community pop-up event is open to the public and runs from 6:30-8 p.m. at the AMSA Fred Moore Campus Auditorium. The first hour features interactive art making with visual artist Jimmy Longoria. The project is called "Bouquet of Color" and will be using 3M materials. The event wraps up at 7:30 p.m. with a performance by EnsÅ Daiko, a loud, energetic performance group that combines music, dance, culture and pure athleticism. View a flyer for the event.
For more than 20 years, the Flint Hills Family Festival has brought communities together through the power of the arts, welcoming over a million students, teachers, and families since its conception in 2001. School week is May 30-June 2 and the Family Festival is June 2-3.
Highway 10 update: Additional Hwy 10 road and ramp closures have begun in Anoka
The Highway 10 Anoka Project restarted in mid-March. In addition to the Ferry Street bridge being removed and detours put in place, more road and ramp closures started this week. Included in the closures is the 7th Ave. to eastbound Hwy 10 ramp. Employees and visitors to the Anoka-Hennepin Educational Services Center should plan accordingly as routes could be modified at this time.
