SIXTH FORM

IMPORTANT NOTICES

A LEVEL RESULTS DAY – A reminder to all students and parents to put this date firmly in your diary for the summer! Thursday 14 August at the Senior Boys site in Ray Mill Road, 8 am for Year 13 A2 results and 9.30 am for Year 12 AS results. Mr Giles and Mrs Rogers will be there to advise students - Mr Giles to help Year 13 students with university entrance, and Mrs Rogers to advise Year 12 about subjects for the next academic year. Do make sure you come in person as every year some students and parents need to make important decisions on that day about the future.

SPOTLIGHT THEATRE COLLEGE – Taster Morning Invitation

Students aged 15 to 20 years are invited to a ‘taster morning’ on Sunday 13 July 2014 in Burnham for the one-year Foundation Course in Musical Theatre. More information from Mrs Rogers in the Sixth Form office.

CHROMEBOOKS All Year 12 parents received a letter asking permission for their son or daughter to have use of a school Chromebook for their studies. Most have returned these and some parents have indicated that they prefer their child to use an alternative device. Any outstanding consents must arrive on Monday morning. For parents who do not consent we will be taking in the Chromebooks issued.

NUTS! It is a Claires Court policy that nuts should not be brought on to any site. However, the Housekeeping team have reported that they are finding them on the premises, so we would like to remind you that we have children and adults on site who can experience severe reactions if they come into contact with nuts. Thank you.

WELL DONE TO:

Our rowing crews who put in an excellent performance at Henley last Friday. The A crew qualified to row against Marlow Rowing Club this Wednesday but unfortunately did not go through. The B team had the misfortune to break a blade so did not qualify.

Congratulations to Emma Moores who has qualified for Henley as well with her Eton Excelsior crew.

Matt Hill and Sammy Isaacs-Johnson competed in the SDRA International Sailing Finals at Rutland in the Firefly class where they enjoyed the experience and learned valuable sailing strategies.

See the sports area of the website for further details of rowing and sailing at Claires Court.
