Fall Harvest Snacks

Ms. Campbell worked with our gifted students to grow herbs and vegetables in a container garden outside by the picnic table. She then used those herbs and vegetables to make a spinach salad and stir fry for the students to enjoy!

Ms. Weaver Receives an Award!

Carolyn Denise Weaver, bus driver at WDES, is self-motivated. She goes above and beyond to help her fellow drivers in any way possible. She has volunteered to switch runs to make it easier for a substitute driver and/or in the absence of a driver, volunteered to take on part of that load to ensure the students get home safely and in a timely manner.

Our WDES PTO has started their first community service project!

Our students are working hard donating cans of cranberry sauce for the Robert B. Fox foundation's annual Christmas dinner for the elderly! Our goal is to collect 100 cans by Dec. 12th!

Character Awards - Responsibility

Big picture

During the month of October, students were learning about “Responsibility”. Students were chosen by their teachers for showing the Character Trait. Students were then given a certificate and a book from administration for showing responsibility! The picture below shows the students who were selected for this acknowledgement on October 31st in our front lobby! We are so proud of them!

Character Award Winner - Mason Oceguera

Big picture

“I would like to nominate Mason Oceguera to represent WDES as our character student of the month. Mason is very responsible and helpful in our classroom. He completes all his work and turns it in on time. When I need to be out of the classroom, I can count on Mason do be responsible to do what is expected of the students. Aside from being responsible for his own behavior, he also has helped other students to have responsible behaviors by reminding them of their responsibilities. Mason is one of my group captains, who help their classmates with questions while I am working with small groups. Due to these examples, I feel Mason would be an outstanding character representative for WDES.” – Mrs. Johnson
