Michelangelo

Madonna of the steps is Michelangelo's first known artwork. He carved it into a shallow relief that was used by master sculpters in the early 15th century. He made many sculptures that had male figure on them. One of his most known works is the Sistine Chapel ceiling.


Tintoretto

Tintoretto was born in Venice, Italy in 1518. He was the eldest of 21 other children. As a boy he put his art on the walls of the house and was soon taken to a studio to see how much he knew. Some paintings were Saint Marks paintings, The Deliverance of Arsenoe, and Paradise.

Galileo

Galileo was a Italian physicist, mathematician, astronomer, and philosopher. He is known for improving the telescope and he discovered the phases of Venus. He also discovered the moons of Jupiter. Galileo is known as the father of science.

Johannes Kepler

Kepler was a German mathematician, astronomer, and a astrologer. Known for establishing laws of planetary motion. This provided one of the foundations for Isaac Newton's theory of universal gravitation.
