PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As the District continues to move forward with changes to COVID guidelines, Lincoln will revert back to 3-foot distancing in the student cafeteria beginning Wednesday, March 2, 2022. Grade level lunch periods will remain as A and B sessions (dividing each grade level: one half in the cafeteria eating, while the other half is at outdoor recess). Any questions regarding this matter should be directed to Mrs. Wade, Mr. Steen, or me.

A FEW IMPORTANT REMINDERS!

Please be sure to order your yearbook by the end of the day on Monday, February 28, 2022. Click on the link above to order your yearbook directly through Jostens, our yearbook provider.

Class of 2022 - Parents were sent emails earlier this week regarding graduation.

Please be sure to respond to the request to complete the graduation form:

Diplomas and Gowns - Please complete and submit this form by Friday, March 4 to provide your child’s formal name to be printed on the diploma and in the graduation program. This is also the name that will be read aloud at the graduation ceremony. Also please provide your child’s height so that we may order the gown. We do not order graduation caps. If this form is not completed, we will use the name registered in the PowerSchool database and order an average sized gown for your child.

UPDATED SPECTATOR GUIDELINES FOR LINCOLN ATHLETIC EVENTS REGARDING MASKING

As parents are aware, effective February 7, 2022, Mount Prospect School District 57 is "mask recommended" and by court order can not require our students, staff, or any individuals inside our facility to wear masks. Though District 57 is bound by the court order, other districts that our athletic teams or our spectators visit while at "away games" may not be. Therefore, if the facility Lincoln visits requires masks wearing, we must comply with mask wearing in order to attend.

AN IMPORTANT INVITATION

. . . FROM MRS. SARA TYBURSKI, DIRECTOR OF STUDENT SERVICES

Thanks to everyone who came out to Lincoln for the screening of "Angst: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety" and our enlightening panel discussion. It’s not too late to view this powerful new documentary! If you missed the in-person screening, you can still view the film on-demand through March 3. To watch the on-demand screening, please access the film at this link and select “Click Here for the Virtual Event.”

"Angst" is intended to start a conversation around the growing problem of anxiety. It features world champion swimmer Michael Phelps, experts in the field, and regular teens, who come together to explore the academic and social stress and pandemic fears and uncertainty that have increased mental health challenges among young people. The film breaks down what is currently going on and what young people can do to help themselves and others. It includes candid interviews and provides tips, tricks, strategies, and resources to help reset thinking patterns, push back against anxiety and support others.

Learn more about the film here: https://www.indieflix.com/angst?hsLang=en
