Gadsden Media Matters
Fall 2015
Welcome
Welcome to the first issue of the Gadsden Elementary Library Newsletter of the 2015-2016 school year. We have a lot of great activities to take part in this school year. We are challenging each student to read 25 books each 9 weeks so we can fill in our buses posted on the wall between the library and the computer lab.
We have our Morning News show up and running!
Our news crew for this first part of the school year are: 5th graders Ty'rone Taylor and Frederick Taylor, 4th grader LaKrystal Prince, and 3rd graders Cameron Evans and Asia Thompson. Each student will rotate through the jobs of news anchor, director, props, and script writing. We are having a great time and hope you enjoy our morning broadcasts!
Research Projects
Every grade is participating in research projects each semester. Our 4-K through 2nd grades are doing 1 per semester for a total of 2 during the school year. Our 3rd through 5th graders will be participating in 2 research projects per semester. The researching is underway and we hope to have a few great projects to share in our hallways and at PTO meetings.
Butterfly Video Conference
We were privileged to have our 1st and 2nd graders participate in a video conference about butterflies and building puppets with the Center for Puppetry Arts.
