Tiogue will be hosting their first Title1 event called PJs and Books. It's Thursday, November 15th from 6:00-7:30. Courtney Hughes (Title 1 coordinator) and I are looking for volunteers to read that evening. Students will be assigned to your classroom and then rotate to another classroom. You need to read twice during this evening. Once at 6:10 with one group of students and then again at 6:40 to a different group. Snacks will then be available at 7:00 in the cafeteria.
Please let me know if you are available to volunteer. Thank you so much!!
Fondly,
Lisa
Monthly Attendance Challenge
Students did a fine job getting to school during the month of October. We are currently running the attendance reports and it appears that we are again in the 200s as far as students NOT missing school during the month. Those students will be entered into our mid-year Kindle Fire raffle and they will also receive our new and improved monthly attendance certificate! Much nicer than our first attempt at our certificate for the month of Sept. Certificates were printed and sorted by HR on Friday.
The RI Dept. of Education takes into account our attendance totals for students, teachers and staff. These totals will effect our "rating" or "ranking" in the state. Let's keep up the great work, everyone. Our goal is to reduce Chronic & All Absences this year!

ViewPure is one of my longest standing recommendations for viewing YouTube videos without distractions. At its basic level to use View Pure just copy the link of a video into the "purifier" on the View Pure website and then click purify. Your "purified" video will be displayed on a blank white background. You can password-protect links to videos that you share through ViewPure (click here for directions). In the last year ViewPure expanded to offer curated collections of educational videos.

Week 11:PBIS MTG. Summary from Thursday, 11/3:
The team met again to review our refresh plan. Brave Buck has been changed thanks to Sarah H.
She revised our language on the "buck" to read, "Be Respectful, Responsible, and Safe". This is easier for our young students to remember!
We also spoke about the following- Click here for official MEETING MINUTES.
Old news:
See Behavior Specialist area above. Kim has been working hard to update our documents and forms. A Tiogue Behavior Form Google Shared Folder has been set up with the latest information. Kim has the referral folder system in place on her office door.
Some faculty and staff asked about extending our Start With Hello work-
Like I had expressed at our first meeting of the school year, PBIS, Conscious Discipline, Restorative Practices, SEL, Start With Hello, all link up nicely together - their philosophies have a common thread can be found tying all programs together.
So, the short answer is, YES! Keep the work moving forward, and share your ideas.
We can post them to this section of the newsletter.
