Team Talk
September 28, 2015
Our Mission
Critical Friends
Due to ACT testing, our next Critical Friends meeting will be held on October 6th in room 348. During the meeting, we will spend time reflecting on recent projects and problems.
As you well know, the fast pace of our work leaves little time to pause and reflect on our work. The gift of time has been provided so we can think about the work in which we've recently engaged to identify what went well, potential next steps and connect with team members dedicated to refining their PBL/PrBL practice.
I look forward to our time together!
PLC
We will forgo Tuesday's PLC in order to engage in Goal Setting Conferences and support the refinement of SLOs and PDPs.
Team members may change time slots with one another if needed. Ms. Sorey and I will work with the team member that arrives at the scheduled time.
Click on the Goal Setting Conference Schedule noted below for details.
PBL/PrBL Support Team
This week, we will continue refining our work with Driving Questions and Problem Statements. PBL Support sessions will be held in room 351A as follows:
- Monday or Wednesday at 8:15
- Monday at 4:50
PrBL support sessions will be provided to the mathematics team on Friday at 8:15.
All team members are expected to attend one session per week. The work of the PBL/PrBLST is aligned to Key Actions 1 and 3 and specifically designed to sustain our instructional model.
We are committed to meeting your needs to ensure we are PBL to the Core!

Internships Begin!
Students will work on campus three days a week and off-site two days. The classroom across from the teacher workroom has been dedicated as their home base.
Special thanks to Ms. Renfro for leading this effort!
Demo Site Coaching Cycle
Cornell notes exemplar posters have been provided to each teacher or team. The posters are designed to be models that support students with effective note taking. Please post them in a prominent area.
Supporting students with acquiring these habits will ensure they successfully navigate college.
Demo Site Application
Project boards should reflect your current project. We will begin photographing project boards the week of October 5th. Pictures will be added to our application as evidence of the work. If you need assistance, ask your department chair or team leader for support.
Compliance Videos
The deadline for viewing compliance videos has been extended to October 31, 2015. Certificates of completion must be submitted to Ms. Macias for placement in employee files.
