First Parish Council Meeting of the Semetser After Mass!
Our names are Emily Mroczek and Noah Cote, and we are the co-presidents of the Nazareth College Parish Council. I, Emily, am a senior Bachelor of Arts in Music and Community Youth Development major and I, Noah, am a senior Music Therapy Major. We both have been invested in the Catholic Community our past few years here at Nazareth.
Our goal for the Parish Council is to get more individuals of the community involved and to enhance leadership skills. The parish council is responsible for coordinating numerous activities and events for our campus parish.
There are four committees you can join to become involved:
Faith Formation & Spiritual Development Committee
Justice and Peace Committee
Liturgy Committee
Social Event Planning Committee
The first meeting of the Nazareth College Catholic Community's Parish Council will take place TODAY after Mass in GAC 151. Come and learn about how you can get involved in our campus parish! Bring your ideas! Donuts and cider will be served!
If you wish to be part of a committee or have any questions, please get in contact with either of us! We look forward to meeting you tonight!
Sincerely,
Emily Mroczek, emrocze0@mail.naz.edu

A native of San Francisco, Robert F. McElroy was appointed bishop of the Catholic
Diocese of San Diego by Pope Francis in 2015. Described as "one of the most respected intellectual leaders of the Catholic Church in the United States," Bishop McElroy is ardent in his support of Catholic social teaching, astute in reading the "signs of the times," and forthright in addressing urgent topics of social concern, including the plight of refugees and migrants and issues of the economy and the environment.
A well-known speaker and frequent contributor to America Magazine, he is the author of The Search for an American Public Theology: The Contribution of John Courtney Murray and Morality and American Foreign Policy: The Role of Ethics in International Affairs. He serves the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops on the ecumenical committee, the committee of domestic justice, and the committee on international affairs.
Bishop McElroy earned a B.A. in American history from Harvard University, an M.A. in history and a Ph.D. in political science from Stanford University, as well as a licentiate in theology from the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley and a doctorate in moral theology from the Gregorian University in Rome.
". . . as a people of faith, as disciples of Jesus Christ, as children of Abraham, as followers of the Prophet Muhammad, as people of all faiths and no faith, we cannot merely be disruptors, we also have to be rebuilders." ~Bishop Robert W. McElroy
