Principal's Message
How quickly October has come for us at the school level? We have been quite busy the last month and a half. We have completed diagnostics, developed individual student plans, students have created academic goals, teachers are differentiating the instruction and our students are learning how to most efficiently build their school stamina. It has been a challenging journey to get their mindset back into the everyday grind of learning in the classroom, so we are working everyday to ensure that our students continue to focus on some of their gaps in learning. COVID-19 has definitely challenged all of us to change how we view the world and how to best navigate through our daily lives. As an educational staff, we are always focused on providing the necessary care and attention to our students. Every decision we make stems from the needs that they bring to the classroom. The end of the first quarter is drawing near, so let’s continue partnering together to make sure that your students are progressing continuously throughout the school year.
"The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand."
-Vince Lombardi

Panorama Survey
We would like your child’s feedback via a 20-30 minute online survey that s/he will be completing at school or home (VLA) the week of October 4th. Note that only third and fourth grade students will take the survey. The survey will provide us with social and emotional learning (SEL) information. SEL is the process through which children and adults apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. These are the skill sets that promote success in life. Please see the form below.
Testing
All testing will begin at 9:30AM. Please take note of the dates below to coordinate scheduling appointments for your child. For your child to perform their best on the test, it is important they are well rested and eat a nutritious breakfast.
Gifted Identification
Second grade students will take the forty minute Naglieri Assessment on Wednesday, October 13th. Third grade students will take the CogAT Assessment on Monday, October 11th, Wednesday, October 13th, and Thursday, October 14th. Each day of testing will take approximately thirty minutes.
