Special Edition: HES Happenings

A Message from Mary Oldach, Principal
Dear HES Community,
I hope that this newsletter finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe! In response to the most recent COVID statistics and guidance from our local boards of health, all of the MRSD schools will be fully remote beginning Tuesday, January 5, 2021. There is no school on Monday, January 4, 2021 for the MRSD schools, including current distance learners. We plan to return in-person learning on Tuesday, January 12.
I am thrilled that all of our students now have a chrome book, and our innovative staff has familiarized the boys and girls with their online learning platform. This is a huge step forward from our school closure last spring.
On Monday, January 4, 2021, there is a mandatory chrome book and school materials pick up for all HES students from 3:00 - 5:00 pm at the following HES locations:
Door 2: Last Names A-H, enter from Sisson Road
Door 6: Last Names: I - O , enter from Parallel Street
Main Entrance: Last Names P-Z, enter from South Street
Please drive up to your assigned door, and remain in your vehicle to patiently wait for assistance.
To use a phrase from our classrooms, this pick-up is a "Must Do" so that the boys and girls are prepared for class with their teacher on Tuesday at 8:00 am. Teachers will be in touch with how to join class on Tuesday morning.
All of these materials, chrome book and accessories must be returned to school with your student(s) when we re-open for in-person learning on Tuesday, January 12, 2021.
This pick- up does not apply to our students currently enrolled in distance learning. If your child was due to transfer into in-person learning on January 4, please keep your chrome book and still come to pick up any materials from your student's new teacher on Monday, January 4.
I could not be more proud of our families, students and staff for how well this school year has gone so far. We have been in school full-time without a day missed due to COVID since September. It has been a team effort to comply with the MRSD safety protocols while ensuring a safe, happy learning environment for all.
Please contact me at moldach@monomoy.edu or 508-430-7216 should you have any questions or concerns.
Fins up!
Mary

Regular School Day Dismissal is "officially" at 2:15pm, however, we start caregiver pickups earlier than 2:15pm to accommodate the volume of cars. Pick-ups begin at 1:50pm and end at 2:20pm.
Early Release Day Dismissal is "officially" at 1:35pm, however, we start caregiver pickups at 1:05 pm at Door 3 and Door 6 and end at 1:35pm. Buses run about 45 minutes early on these Wednesdays.
