Westbrook Chorus Performed at the School Board Meeting

From the Principal...

Dear Parents,

We are so thankful for our PTO Art Appreciation. Students had a great time learning about Eric Carle's books and creating beautifully painted butterflies. Thank you Melissa Amling and Jennifer Poje for organizing and to all the parent volunteers that came to help.

We celebrated Speech pathologist appreciation day this week. We are grateful to have an amazing speech and language pathologist team at Westbrook Megan Crawford, Colleen Jennings, Taylor Marquardt, Kirsten Titze, Jocelyn Warner, and Anita Wilisowski.

This week we had an all-school Hot Read Assembly to honor the amazing Mrs. Zemaitis, who will be retiring after this school year. Janice has served as a teacher in District 57 for over 30 years. Her dedication to her students and families, hard work, and commitment has made a tremendous impact. Her expertise and guidance have not only shaped Westbrook but have also nurtured the talents of those fortunate enough to work alongside her. Janice has a true passion for her work and the students she serves. May this next chapter of her life be filled with joy, fulfillment, and the well-deserved relaxation she has earned. Janice’s friends and colleagues read her favorite Elephant and Piggy book, I'm Invited to a Party by Mo Willems.

It is hard to believe the last day of Circle of Friends is next week, Wednesday, May 24th. Watching the preschoolers learn and grow has brought our staff much joy. I am grateful that you have entrusted your little ones with our Westbrook team. Circle of Friends families, please join us for popsicles in Westbrook’s Park on Wednesday, May 31st, from 6:15-7:00 pm. We hope our Circle of Friends students and families have a fun and safe summer.

For your children,

Danielle Crandall
