Promoting Reading
Beachwood Author Festival
Our first ever Beachwood Author Festival was a huge success! This free community event involved students, staff, and Beachwood residents and fostered the love of reading to everyone.
Book Clubs
Book Clubs were very popular this year at BMS! Six book clubs were held for a lively, dedicated 6th grade group, and three book clubs were held for 7th and 8th graders reaching record numbers. Good times and discussions were produced by all.
Book Matching
Seventh grade students this year once again had the enjoyment of participating in a "Speed Dating with Books" program during which they found their perfect book match.
New this year: The library offered Book Match Surveys. Many staff and students filled out a quick survey to help me come up with a personalized book match list for each participant. Students and staff alike were impressed with and excited about receiving their personalized results.
