Color Change : idoine and clock reaction

In our lab we mixed together iodine, liquid starch, hydrogen peroxided, and vitamin C powder into a cup. After about 6 minutes the color started to change from pink to purple and then to a blackish brown and just ion a few seconds! This process that happened is called the iodine and clock reaction.

Rusting

Rusting is when an object oxidizes and forms a new substance and the object starts to create an iron oxide an that is where the rusting starts to form.

Burn-Cook-Explode

BURN- in class we worked together to try and light a candle with a match we burned we had to gently but fast swipe the match to get it to light.

Cook- In class we didn't cook anything but further on into the year we probably will. But, from background knowledge I know that in order to cook something you have to pay attention to the recipe and how you are reacting toward what you are making. The most important thing is that you have to be safe around what you are doing and not mess around.

Explode- Its where you take different chemicals and mix them all together and then form them into one to create something that would chemically combine and then eventually blow up.
