March Is Reading Month
We are excited for March Is Reading Month! We will be kicking it off with 'Hats Off To Reading' on Friday, February 28th. Students may wear a school appropriate hat of their choice for $1. That day they will be bringing home a READO (bingo) board. During the month of March, please help your child work on their board to get a bingo. Once they have gotten one, they will need to turn their board into their teacher. Every student that turns in his/her sheet by March 31st will earn a FREE ticket to a game at Jimmy John's Field. Please have your child read his/her copy (or you can read it to them) of Beatrice Zinker Upside Down Thinker as we will be having weekly trivia questions from the book. If you should have any questions please feel free to contact Mrs. Reynolds (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Our 3rd graders have been working hard on researching many famous African Americans. The created posters and will be presenting them throughout the month!
Check out the collaborative poster project for Black History Month in 4th grade! It was so enjoyable to hear the students try to guess who they had as a part of the puzzle and when the final project was put together their “ah-ha” moments were priceless!
For black history month our Kindergarten students this week read a book on celebrating similarities and differences, interviewed our classmates, and learned about MLK and Rosa Parks.
