Counting Down to Kindergarten
Registration opens January 3rd for the next session, which starts March 7th.
Counting Down to Kindergarten is designed for children ages 3.5 to 5 and features the academic and social skills your child will need prior to entering Kindergarten. The typical program has a set routine: First, there is a circle time where stories are read, songs are sung, and literacy and math concepts are learned. Circle time ends with instructions for learning stations, which change every week. Then the children and their adults are free to explore the various stations and each station focuses on developing various preschool level skills.
Parents/caregivers are required to remain with their children throughout the program.

New Teen Programs
Starting in January, the library will be hosting two new monthly programs for teens:
Creative Writing Club will meet the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 5pm and is currently open to teens and adults (depending on interest). We will read short works in a variety of genres and try our hand at writing in those genres. It will be a good way to get your brain going if you feel "stuck" and to learn about different genres or styles you may not have encountered. Tuesday, January 17 @ 5pm.
Appreciate a Dragon Party on January 28
Every year the dragons come back to their favorite nesting grounds to lay their eggs - the library of course! Children are invited to become OFFICIAL dragon rehabilitators. Kids will collect eggs and "release them" into our special incubators.
Don't forget to bring your favorite dragon for our dragon parade! We will also have crafts and snacks to celebrate our favorite fantasy creatures.
12pm on January 28. No registration required.
