Learning Continuums
By 4pm on Friday, December 21st, you will receive access to your child's Reading and Math Continuums. Remember that a Continuum is a progression of skill development that builds in complexity from one level to the next. It communicates progress and provides information needed to personalize the instruction for the learner.
What do the marks on the Continuum mean?
Green highlighting and dating the skill indicates that your child has demonstrated proficiency. This means that your child is able to consistently and independently apply the standard in multiple settings and there are multiple pieces of evidence that supports this. The orange highlighting indicates that your child is currently working on that skill as his/her next step. If a skill is not highlighted, it means the skill has yet to be addressed, assessed, or is an upcoming goal for the student. It is important to keep in mind that all students learn at their own pace and some individual skills will shift at different times.
Continuums will be updated throughout the school year. Please contact your child's teacher(s) with any questions or concerns.
Winter Break
Raptor System
We would like to make you aware of a security upgrade at all of our schools.
Beginning Monday, Nov. 26th, all visitors who enter a school building during normal school hours will be required to check into the school office and present a valid Identification ( Drivers License, State Issued ID, Military ID, or Consular ID ). Upon arrival, the identification will be scanned using the Raptor Visitor Management System. This software was purchased using funds provided by the State of Wisconsin School Safety Grant. Raptor provides immediate, real-time background checks on individuals to identify sex offenders and deny them entry.
Once a visitor has been scanned, the system will print a visitor ID badge that is worn by the visitor for the duration of their visit. We ask that the visitor present their ID each time they visit and a new visitor badge will be printed. As staff members, we ask that you contact the office anytime a visitor is seen in your school without an ID that has been generated by Raptor. Of course, a School District of Waukesha ID is expected to be worn by all employees while in school.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding with this new procedure, and know that you share our desire to keep our students and our buildings safe. Thank you.

Lost and Found!
Please take a look at the below items and let us know if you recognize any of them. As many of you are aware, we tend to accumulate A LOT of lost items throughout the year. Each week we will send a picture of lost items for you to claim. If they are not claimed then we will ensure that they go to a donation center in our area. What is most helpful is if you label your child's clothing and school items. We can then easily identify the item and make sure that the lost item is found and hopefully also save you a trip to have to buy another one. Please label items such as jackets, sweatshirts, water bottles, and lunchboxes. As winter approaches please make sure that you label boots, snow pants, hats, and mittens. Black snow pants seem to be a favorite here at Rose Glen and so labeling them will ensure that everyone has their own black snow pants and that if a pair gets lost then we can ensure it gets to the right child. Thank you for your help with this and looking forward to year with minimal lost items :) Please email Cathe Sweet at csweet@waukesha.k12.wi.us if you recognize any of the items.
