Hayden Hampton

Unit Rate: Roses

Roses are $19.92 for 12 roses.

To calculate the unit rate you would divide the number (amount) of roses by the total price.

19.92 divided by 12 = 1.66

You can also calculate a proportion to calculate the unit rate.

12/19.92 = 1/x

Solve for x

Step 1: 12x = 19.92(1)

Step 2: 12x/12 = 19.92/12

Step 3: x = 1.66

A single rose is $1.66

Unit Rate: Daisies

Daisies are $ 21.90 for 15 daisies.

To calculate the unit rate you would divide the number (amount) of daisies by the total price. 21.90 divided by 15 = 1.46

You can also calculate a proportion to calculate the unit rate.

15/21.90 = 1/x

Solve for x

Step 1: 15x = 21.90(1)

Step 2: 15x/15 = 21.90/15

Step 3: x = 1.46

A single daisy costs $ 1.46

Unit Rate: Tulips

Tulips are $ 25.60 for 20 tulips.

To calculate the unit rate you would divide the number (amount) of tulips by the total price.

25.60 divided by 20 = 1.28

You can also calculate a proportion to calculate the unit rate.

20/25.60 = 1/x

Solve for x

Step 1: 20x = 25.60(1)

Step 2: 20x/20 = 25.60/20

Step 3: x = 1.28

A single tulip costs $ 1.28
